our story

2012 - 2021

We are Aaron & Abby

We met 8 years ago as friends from church. I (Abby) lived in Findlay and didn't see too much of Aaron, except at church events or when I would hangout with Aaron's sister Grace, aka my best friend. But when we did spend time together, it was kayaking, apple picking, pumpkin carving, swimming or going out to sushi. In 2018 we both began to consider our relationship after Aaron took me out on an "accidental sushi date" (he was pretty unsure of what a date was). We decided that friendship was where we were at for the time being, until...

In February of 2020 we both went on another "accidental date" to Applebee's for $1 Strawberry vodkas. We both shared lots of laughs and had some deep conversations about life. We realized that all our shared history as friends was actually just the beginning of something to come.

Of course, then the unexpected pandemic of 2020 hit. (Nuff said)

But God was moving. Between work and studying for the LSAT exam, I (Aaron) had lots of opportunities to seriously contemplate my future - considering law schools and a potential move to Florida. However, the biggest thought on my mind was how this girl I knew as a friend for so long began to care so much about who I was even in my weakest times of indecisiveness about my future. She showed me her strength and joy even in her own life difficulties and challenged me to trust God more than I was. The pandemic was unexpected, but it wasn't even close to the most unexpected surprise of my life, and I began to find so much joy in knowing Abby - more than I ever could have imagined.

We officially began dating the last day of May in 2020, after I (Abby) had to DTR (Define That Relationship) with Aaron. Neither of us knew exactly what we were even doing, but we began by taking 2 long walks, having lots of conversation, going to Starbucks, and of course star-gazing on wet grass all on that first day. It was easy to see how spending time together would continue to grow our relationship and teach us more about the other person. Within 2 weeks, I (Aaron) saw God change my calling for the year from pursuing my future achievements, to pursing my future life with Abby. The same day I took my LSAT exam, I toured the house I bought later in July, and 12 days later Abby and I were dating. Less than 6 months after that we were engaged. We both are very strong in our faith and can't wait to not only celebrate our wedding day, but also to start our lives in marriage together.

Lastly, we can't express how excited we are to have you join us on August 21, 2021 for our wedding day. It's because of your influence and impact on our lives that we can be who we are today together. We are so grateful for you!
